STATE COIL MINES.
GREYMOUTH, March 4. In regard to the extension of the State mine railway to the Paparoas, there to tap the anthracite seams that will be worked in connection with the State coal mine at ' Point Elizabeth, on .the first survey being completed it was found that the grades were too steep, and the surveyors are now engaged in mapping a new route. The demand for the State article is very considerable at present, the output averaging about 5000 tons per week. j
