THE ASHBURTON AUTUMN MEETING.
The, A«hburton County Racing Club have issued the programme for their autumn meeting dated for May 13 and 14, and as several well-e-ndovred' events figure on the list, horee-o-wners may find it to their advantage to peruse the prize-li«t. The principal event is the Asbjjurton Cup, of 15550v8, one mile and a-quarteT ; and on th-e second day the Autumn Handicap, of lOOsovs, owe mile, forms the -principal race on the card. The chief sprint events are to be furnished by the Grove Farm Handicap, of 70sovs, «ix furlongs ;' and the Wakanui Handicap, of 60sovs, five furlongs. Two trotting events each carry a 50sovs prize, and other races on the card are as follows: — Longbeach Hack Handicap, of ♦Osovs, six furlengs; Fairfield Welter, of SOsovs, seven furlongs; Laghmor Plate,- of 4Ceovs, five furlongs ; Trial Handicap, of 30sov«, six furlongs ; Moreton Hack Handicap, of 3550V9, six furlongs ; Juvenile Handicap, of 50sovs, six furlongs; and Dispoaal Handicap, ' of/ 25sovs, six furlongs. Nominations close on Saturday, April 25.
