March 2. The Leolairfis gelding Cachuc* was shipped to Wangarrui on Tuesday last to fulfP his engagements »t the Wanganui Jockey Club's tutumn naeeting, which commences on Thucsay next. Owing to the indisposition of Dennis Moraghan, trainer of Master Delaval, the Auckland horseman A. Julian went south in charge of the son. of Seaton. Delaval last Tuesday. Master De^val will be ridden in the Wangaraii Cup by Julian. Lady Clements' successes in the Maiden | and KawAu Hurdles at the Tekapuna Jockey Club's summer meeting pointed to her proving herself at the illegitimate game. Her form since has-, h,owever,, been distinctly disappointing, as at "the Rotorua Cflub'e meeting at Cambridge, with 9.7 on her back she was beaten by two moderates in T*rikihi ; ! 9.6. and Good Faith 9.0. Her Connections : had supported her strongly in the race in question. [ In spite of the racing she has done this I se&scm the. Leolantis mare Uranium looks big and well, and was responsible for a very decent performance in the Rotorua Cup the other day, which was won comfortably under S.B in 2min 9 3-ssec— a very pood gallop for a mile and a-quarter. The evidence in connection with the running of certain horses engaged at the Auckland Trotting wad Whang&rei Jockey Clubs' recent meetings is- not yet quite complete. The Auckland Racing- Committee were unable to investigate these matters *t last week's meeting and will probably deal with ihem at next monthly meeting. It is said that the ' inquiry is likely to be far-reaching, and rosy be followed by drastic action, and apparently not before it is needed. , The veteran St. Lager gelding Scottv is being kepi going «t Elkrslie training track, and is looking as well as -ever. / • Celtic appears to be coming on nicely now, and if Frank M'MJanemin succeeds in build- | ing the son of Seatcm De!aval up properly he may account for a go&d race before the season closes. .The Auckland light-weight jockey B.
