S. C, Springvale, writes that a four-year-old gelding while running in ia paddock cut the pastern with something, and nearly Died to death. The animal was staggering from loss of blood when discovered. Three, days later the gelding went blind in both eyes. The wound is healing up, but the sight has not yet come back. — Bathe the _ horse's eyes with a little w«rm water, and afterwards apply a solution of sulphate , of zinc — 6gr to an ounce of water, applied j to the eyes once a day. Grumphie.— Without a personal examination it is impossible to give a definite answer : in regard to the sow. It is probable the j milk will not come back to the four teats, ' and it is possible more of the teats would also go dry with the next litter. Taking all things into consideration, perhaps the wisest thing to do is to turn the sow into bacon.
