PROVISION FOR LANDLESS APPLICANTS. AUCKLAND, February 27. . Under "The Land Laws Amendment Aoff, 1907," provision ie made for giving preference to landless applicants in a. Crown laud ballot. The first application, of the new act in Auckland operates in regard to 6300 acres in the Counties of Waitomo, Whakfttane, Whangarei, Otamatea, and Waitematea. The ballot arranged for to-day was postponed to March 10, in order that the Land Board may discover which of the applicants are landless.
