KETTLE WORTH £3000 STOLEN.
A curious "kettle," made of platinum, and valued at over £3000, has been stolen from Germany. It is a curiously shaped retort, and' has been 6tolen from a laboratory at Oker, in the Hartz Mountains. It was used in connection with certain cctly processes in chemical research. These retorts, each of which costs a fortune, are employed because they are practically indestructible, and are not affected by the action of corrosive acid 3. The stolen crucible is described a3 having been mended with gold."
