Another Hague Conference.

A gentleman who delights to act the peacemaker recently came upon two labourers fighting. The gentleman pushed through the crowd and persuaded the combatants to desist.

"Lot me beg of you, my good felJov.-s," earnestly besought the peacemaker, "to settle your disputes by arbitration. Each of you cliocse half a dozen friends to arbitrate."
