AUCKLAND, Febiuary 21. I An old Owharoa prospector named J. Smyth has just returned from the TJrewera Country, where he has been prospecting. He states that tlie country is prolific so far as reefs are concerned, but values have not yet bean proved. One reef, he asserts, is 50ft across, but until depth is attained and the lodes thoroughly tested, definite information cHMot be procuied as to the whole value that could be placed on the Urewera ' Cbuntry as » gold-bearing centre.
