Lice and Ticks in Sheep. EVIL OF THE PAST.
UNANIMOUS VERDICT BY A .TTTR.Y OF WORLD- RENO WNED SHEEP EXPERTS. What may be described as a great trial by a jury of exports has boen in progress throughout Npw Zealand for the past few years, thp subject on trial being- Quibell's Patent Powder Dip, and the jurors many of the Dominion's mn«t famous pastoralists, assisted by the world's most noted breeders of merino and Lincoln sheep respectively — ie . Messrs .ToKn S Honfail. of Wid s i.»», N.S.W., and Henry Dudding, of Riby Grove, England, a no\el feature of this trial being tliat each juror conducted his investigations entirely independent of his fellows, and reported his findings accordingly, and it i« a significant fact that thff opinions submitted by the eminent experfi composing the jury referred to amount to a unanimous verdict, as follows — vis. : 1. That ticks and lice in sheep are evili unknown where Quibell's Patent Powder Dip i« used. 2. That a perfect, fleece of wool .according to breed and quality of stock is th« result of using this preparation. 3. That in point of being easily prepared for the bath and kept in suspension it i? all that can be desired, while it* lasting powers are equalled by fen and surpa e scd by none. Ab an indication of the standing and reputation of the pastoralists composing tht jury before referred to, and who hay*' contributed their views, the following well known breeders may be mentioned — vis. 1 Messrs Archd. M'Lean. of Greenhill, Hast? ings, Hawke'e Bay ; Ernest Short, of Para rangi, Feilding ; George Wheeler, of Bur ford, Halcomb : W. H. Wyebourne, Patea( Slack Bros., Waitoitoi: D. Bishcll, Cay? thorpe, Blenheim ; H. D. Vavasour, BlenJ heim ; O. W. Reid, of Balruddery, Oamaru? John Macdonald, of Waitaki Plains Oamaru ; A. It. Morrison, manager fo( John S. Horsfall, Widgiewa, N.S.W., etc. ( etc. All the above-named are well know* throughout New Zealand as experts of th« highest standing, nofc a few of them- indeed, having a world-wide reputation as sheepbreeders and wool-growers, and it is eaf« to conclude that they would not return a verdict in favour of Quibell's or any othet dip if it did not thoroughly deserve it*
