AUCKLAND WOOL SALES
AUCKLAND, February 18. The third wool sale of the season was held to-day. There were not many buyers present, probably owing to the piesent unsettled state of the wool market at Home. There wore 918 bales catalogued, against 577 for the same sale last jeav. The market opened weak in all sorts, and the proportion sold by the different brokers ■v\as only about one-third of tho total offerings. Prices for inferior crossbred wools dropped as compared with last year from Id to lid. Good crossbred dropped },<!. Merino wool was id higher, but there was very little offering. Lambs' vool was about id to £d.betier. The highest price realised was 9d for fine crossbred in one instance, and for choice half-bred in another.- Last year similar uool brought IlJkl. The top price for medium crossbred was 7d, a« compared with 9id to lO^d last year.
