HEROIC EFFORT TO SAVE A WIFE. AUCKLAND, February lk A young man named Alec M'Dougall was drowned at Orewa yesterday whilst trying to save his wife. Deceased, who wa3 spending his holiday at Orewa, went out with hia wife to bathe in the creek. The latter becoming exhausted, called to him for help. Although he could scarcely swim, he rushed out to her, both sinking together. On coming to the surface his wife grasned a log, whila the husband was carried -down the stream.
