ROWDY FLAXMILL HANDS.
SIX MEN ARRESTED.
PALMERSTON N., February 23. A number of flaxmill hands who were in town on Saturday created a. great disturbance on the 5 o'clock down train going to Longburn. The guard (Mr Grant) endeavoured to remove them from the train, but the men resisted. Two of the Manawatu Company's guards were called to ms assistance, and the men were eventually got out. A rough and tumble fight took place between six flaxmill hands and three guards. It must have gone^ badly with the latter had it' not been for 'the timely and unexpected assistance of Constable Ingram, who happened, to be travelling in plain clothes. The men were finally overpowered, ana a message, was sent to Palmerston. Another constable went .out in a cab, and all the men were arrested.
