DUNEDIN CLUB EVENING MEETING.
The final of the series of the evening •rthkrfac meetings which have been so popular throughout the season was held on the Caledonian Ground on Friday evening, , The Treather «ac threatening^ but there was a fair attendance of the public, including a number of, tie fair sex, who took a keen interest in tW proceedings. There w»a an •ntire absence of wind, and as the track was in good order conditions were favourable for running. All th» events attracted large iielas, and the x*cing was Iteenly interesting. Some good performances were put up. Thompson, off MoyA*, won- the mile in 4min 9Beeo, with Laux&tson (65yda) second. -The SSO Yards Fl*t brought out a" good, field of lft runners, the- -winner turning up in L. Tan»ey, off lTy&j.in. 41 l-ssec- • The ."huncbed," decided in five heats and a final, was won by Tansey off 64yda in 10 S-Ssee, after, a oloae finish., .Shand won the jump with. 30ft llin, including a aft hasdioas.
