BOOKMAKERS FINED.
TIMARU, February 19. Mr Hutchison, S.M., delivered judgment at Waimate to-day in. the case in which two bookmakers were charged with having offered to bet at the Morven sports on" December 16. The Magistrate considered the offence proved, and lined them £1 each. The cases are the first of the kind brought under the new Gaming Act.
