' ' SITTING AT ALEXANDRA. (Faou Qtra Speciai. E«pobt3sb.) ALEXANDRA SOUTH. February 24. TBfe Arbitration Court will commence a two days' sitting at Alexandra South at 10 a.ml tomorrow. Two compensation eases and two industrial disputes will engage' the attention of the court. The principal industrial dispute of local interest is one irf which the Alexandra- Coal Mining Company (Limited) cites the Coal Miners 9 Industrial Union of Workersr-for fche_ purrose of obtaining alteration* in the existing award. The parties, have been working under an award which has been in existence since August 25, 190*, and the company now applies for a' reduction in the hewing rates and shift wages. The wanes at present under award at 11s per day for shift work, and under the new proposals 10a per is asked for. Other alterations, uader the citation are that truckers' xuwres be reduced from 9s to 7s per day, ana that a trucker over 19 years of age -be paid 9s per shift.
