CONCILIATION BOARD.
PALMERSTON X., February 24.
The Conciliation Board held a brief eittins? here to-day in connection with the butter workers' dispute. There were present Messr3 P. J. O'Regan (chairman), A. CoU lins, and W. H. Westbrooke. for the em* ployees, and Messrs T. Bedford and IP* Ir.nis for the employers. Messrs A. M'Wilf liam and W. Dick were also present for tha workers. The Chairman stated .that it ap* peared the employers had not accepted thg invitation to be present, and it was decided to adjourn and visit some of the factories around Palmerston North.
A novel Christmas ureetinff has just beer* received by the wife and family of tha mate of the Grimeby trawler Dove. ItJ was contained in a sealed bottle, which -was thrown i«to the North Sea, 150 miles from land, and was picked up by a coastguard a£ Donna Nook, Lines.
