AUSTRALIAN POLITICS.
QUEENSLAND AFFAIRS. BRISBANE, February 18. The new Ministry has been sworn in as follows : — Mr Kidston, Premier and Chief Secretary. Mr Airey, Treasurer. Mr Barlow, Minister of Public Instruction. Mr Blair, Attorney-general and Minister of Minea. Mr Bell, Minister of Lands. Mr Hawthorne. Home Secretary. Mr ©"Sullivan, Minister of Agriculture. Mr Ken-, Minister of Railways and Minister of Public Works. The two last-named have seats in the Upper House. The Cabinet consists of eight salaried Ministers instead of six as previoi'&ly. February 20. The Government has suspended all departmental payments. Tlrs course had to ba taken because Parliament had not made the necessary appropriations. Parliament will be called together immediately to remedy the matteT.
The last Kid=ton Ministry was composed of tho following: — Mr Kid->ton, Premier, Chef Secretary, and Treasurer; Mr Bar low, Minister of Public Instruction ; Air O'Sulhvan, Minister of Public Worlds -at.tl Agriculture; Mr Bell. Minister of I'ublic Lands; Mr Blair, Attorney-stoneial ami Minister of Mirie^; Mr Hawthorn, Ilomo Sccietary; Mr Kerr, Minister of Rail«av«. The only new member, therefore. i~ MiAirey, the Treasurer.
