JOHANNESBURG, Februaiy \i>. Mr Keir Hardies attempt to address a meeting at Johannesburg was a complete fiasco. The crowd refused to hear a, word, and pelted Mr Hardie with eggs and tomatoes, and threw nauseating drugs or the platform.
Mr Hardie has issued a pamphlet instead of delivering an address.

Mr Keir Hardie, addressing a private meeting at Johannesburg, advocated equal wages for whites and natives. He expressed the hope that simultaneously with the next Colonial Conference the Labour representatives of the world would also meet to discuss the same problems from the standpoint of Labour.
PRETORIA, February 21
Mr Keir Hardie, Mr.P., addressed a picked meeting at Pretoria, but was afterwards pelted with eggs.
