The u=ual weekly meeting of the above club way held on Tuesday, February 11 En:erald presided ovei a. meeting o£ 12, Dot also favouring the meeting with her piesence Lndian Chief «ho was chosen to act as secretary in the absence of Cornish, read the minutes, which were duiy confirmed Emerald, on behalf of the club extended a hearty welcome to Ita (Inveicaigill). Ibis was agieed to. Indian Chief, who is the pos=essor of a magic lantern, offered to show in the dub ream shortly some slides illustrate c of Cential Otago and other places he has \isitecl , so D L°F. may expect a new depaiture in cub entertainment in the near future. Dot proposed a veiy hearty vote of thanks to Indian Chief for his kind offer, and Harry seconded her motion. It was cairied unanimously Harry moved that Emerald, T D A , and Tangles be elected a sub-committee (with power to act) to -try and bring together some of the older m«mb»'s of the club and such
more recent DL F. wiiters as are in Dunadm, with a view to increasing membership Dot rose and praised the motion, which was seconded by Kippiehoe, and cairied unanimously Emerald kindly offeied to arrange and ticket the books ready for the new libianan, and Kippiehce moved, seconded by Indian Chief that this matter be lefl in Emerald's hands. The motion was cairied. A well-written papar, entitled "A Holiday Jaunt," fiom Willow Brook's pen, which was very rnterestmg and mstructrxe. was read ■and recened hcaity applause. Other papers, received fiom the InvercargiU Club were held over for Open Meptmg Jessrca a'so contiibutcd a neat little sketch entitled " Smiles and Smiling " For next week's debate.
