The Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club sailed its race for the Championship of the Haibour and a silver cup on Saturday. Tucana, Waimana, and Vagabond were the only competitors. There was a strong breeze from the north, which was rather flukey on the channel side of the course, but which settled down to a good nor'-ea-ster in the old channel. Tucana got the start a few seconds ab^ad of Wjiimana, Vagabond baing 4min 20sec in crossing. Tucana opened out a lead before rounding the Three Legs, and on the bsat down further increased the advantage. Tucana finished the fii3t round in lhr 3tmn, Waimana taking lhr 9m in 42sec, and Vagabond lhr 16min 16sec. Here Tuc*na had 1 •the misfortune to carry away her chain plates, and was forced to retire. Vagabond alsT retired, and Waimana was left to finish ths second round alone, finishing the course in 2hr 9min. AUSTRALASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. PERTH, February 14. The swimming championships were continued at Fremanlle yesterday. Results : One Mile. — Beaurepaire (Victoria) 1, Dickman (New South Wales) 2, Garland (New South Waleb) 3. Won easily. Time, 24min 29sec. 100 Yard^.— Healy (New South Wales) 1, Beaurepaire 2, Garland 3. Won with the greateet ease. Time, 56 l-ssec.
