THE TAHUNA PARK MEETING.
The Tahuna Park Trottin? Club wi'l commence their autumn meeting on Friday next, and it is to be concluded- on Wednesday of next week. The club have been favoured with good acceptances, and as light-harnese racing has been growing in popularity a- large attendance may be conj fidently expected on each day ; in faJt, j in Canterbury the trotter and pacer is a formidable rival to the galloper as % public draw. This was not a'ways the case, but latterly the improved control of trotting 1 meetings has won the confidence and patronage of the public, and it is safe to say tbat ihe trotting horse stands to-dnv on a higher plane than what has ureviouslv been the case in the sporting hietorv of Australia. The sport at Tahuna Park can be witnessed with a minimum loss of time, a«, the first race is timed to «tart at 1.30. and the field for the final e\ent i.s booked to leave the mark at 5.30.
