MONUMENT TO THE LATE MR SEDDON. The above photograph represents the monument to be erected over the grave of the late Mr Seddon on Observatory Hill, overlooking Bolton Street Cemetery. The total height of the monument will be 59ft from the ground. The pedestal is to have a height of 16ft, and the column is square, and measures 4ft Gin on each side, tapering to 3ft lOin at the necking, with a moulded and foliated capital, and surmounted by a symbolical statue 10ft in height. The pedestal has four square buttresses on the angles, with carved trusses on the top, each surmounted by a lion. The monument is to be constructed with a cone of ferro-concrete, and faced with New Zealand marble or granite. It is hoped to have the work completed in four months after acceptance of a tender
