OAMARU SELECTS THURSDAY.

OAMARU, February 12., The poll on the proposal to observe the factory half-holiday on Thursday instead of Saturday was taken to-day and resulted in favour of the alteration, 150 voting for it, and 80 against. In various ways the Saturday has been found inconvenient here, and to many factory hands, as well as to shopkeepers, the reversion to the Thursday will be satisfactory.
