' WELLINGTON. February 9. The transfer of a considerable number of the Catholic clergy has been decided upon. The "Yen. Wellington. Father Hiok'in has been nr>pointed administrator of Thoi ndon parish, and other transfers have been made a' fo! lows:— Father Yenn-nsr (Buckle siropt), to Boulcott street : Father S Mahonev (Leestonl. to Buckle street; Father Finnerry (Tinnini). to Buckle street: Father Hills (St. Patrick's College^ to Lee.-ton : Father James Gogean (Tennika), to Napor; Father A McDonald (Bnulcott street), to Timaru; Father C-ihill (CaWerion). to Dannevirke: Father Bnwe (Palmn>^tcn North). to Carterton; Father D. O'fthea (Dann"virke). to Hawera. Father Kimbcl! (of Pt. Mary of the AnsreU) will take up special work in the d ocese.
The Crov don Borough Council has <S «- cussed the question of Socialistic teaching in Surdav schools. By a majority of 36 to 14- it was decided to refuse to allow the use of any of the council schools for this purpose.
