A billiard match on an arc oval table — fche first built in Australasia — was commenced here thi3 evening between Messrs Bragge and Smith, two well-known professional players. The table was builfc locally by Messrs Aloock and Co., who liave orders for several others for a. saloon that ie to be opened here shortly. The full-sized table, which is 10ft by 7ft, costs £105, and is the result of several years' research and experiment. This evening both players were occasionally puzzled a little by the rebound from the curves, but nevertheless some good breaks were made. »nd the keenct intoie=!t was manifested in the game by the onlookers.
