'(Fbou Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, February 10. The Hon. J. A. Millar informs me that if fcoth sides are agreeable he will have ro <>bjections to presiding at the 4 Maritime Conference, to be held in Wellington towards the end of February. It is under- * stood that the representatives of the shipowners desire to have the Minister in the chair, and the delegates of the unions have no objections to the proposal. The object pf the assembly is to fix a scale of wages and hours. The present Arbitration Court jfcward, with which the men have been very dissatisfied, expires in April.
