CLEARING SALE.
The National Moitgage and Agency Company of New Zsiland reports as follows. — On Thursday we conducted a e'earing sale at Drurtn.ond for" Mr Thomas Kerredy, sen. I Mr Kernedy (who has sold his farm toi j Messrs. Jenkin Bros.) has always been noted* for keeping nothing but the best class of stock, and has for a number of years taken a keen interest in breeding sheep and for Border Leice-sters his name appeals in the Stud Book. There was a large attendance of farmers, and though for the sheepy and principally the studs, the bidding was only between two or three buyers, the values obtained were exceedingly satisfactory. The houses were a splendid lei., and for every finimal there was exceedingly keen competition, and no better lot of draughts have . been offered in Southland. Tl:a following ar» the chief sales- — Sheep. — 1 two-tooth Border Leicester ewe (Stud Bock), with 2 lambs at foot, 25 guineas; 1 eight-tooth Border Leicester ram (Stud Bcok). 10 guineas; 9 full-mout>-Border Leicester ewes (Stud Book), with la lamb 3 at foot. 565. all counted ; 46 two-tooth Border Leicester ewes* (Ciydevale-bred). 30s; 71 two-tooth Border Leicaster ewes, 20s; 21 ram lambs, 245; 170 ewes (iimed, aged). 15s 7d ; 20 ewes and 1 wethers, 13s Id ; 220 lambs. Us Id ; 2 rams, 3 guineas each. Horses. — Bay mare Duchess. Gyrs old. hy Shepherd Lad, with foal at foot by Abbot (imp.). £90; bay mare Jean, by Gallant Lad, foal at foot by Tweedside £62; bay pelding Prince 6\rs old, £50; bay mare Flower, 4yrs old, £42; bay gelding Rodger. 4yrs. £40; bay mare Bell, 4vrs, foal at foot by, Tweedside, £40; bay gelling Dick, 4yrs, £39; black mare Bloss, 4yrs, £38.; harness mare Zetta £14 ; four-year-old mare broken to saddle, £13 10s; four-year-old gelding by) Reflector, unbroken. £12 10s. Cattle. — Dairy cows sold at £5 15s, £6 £6 ss. £6 10s, £7 15s. £9 10s. £10 10s; young) cattle, steers, and heifers, 51s. The implements, harness, and a large quan-< tity of furniture and sundries fetched full value.
