FATAL BURNING ACCIDENT.
AUCKLAND, February 2. J A burning accident which resultea fatally occurred last evening. A woman named Mrs Elizabeth -Black, the wife of a fisherman, 33 yetvrs of age, broke a kerosene lamp and the oil ran on to the floor. She. lit a can-die and was wiping up the kerosene from the floor, when the cloth came in con-, tact with the lighted candle. \ flame immediately shot up * and enveloped thewoman. The husband went to her assistance,- but the unfortunate woman was very, severely burnt before the flames were cx j tinguished The husband's hands wer« burnt, as were also those of two other men. • who assisted. Mrs Black was taken to the hospital in a. critical condition, but did not survive lorig, dying this morning.
