LONDON, January 17. The Eight Hon. S. C. Buxton (Post-master-general), speaking at Edinburgh, i said he -was not a pedantic Freetrader. Within the limits of controversy » there were matters on which they were all agreed. He eulogised Mr Lloyd-George's Merchant Shipping Act, placing all foreign sliips entering Home ports under the same condition® as British, also the Patents Act. He would certainly give no preference Jn trade to the foreigner.
