A MOVE IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, January 17. The desirability of instituting a definite campaign against the rats which infest the neighbourhood of Queen street and the wharves was referred to last evening in a letter to the Oifev Council by Dr Purdy, District Health Officer, who drew attention to the movement initiated in London for the extermination of rats, and suggested that property-owners in the vicinity of the wharves be approached with the idea of having their premises rat-proof, and 'that as far as possible this policy be carried out In Queen street, together with the regular inspection of cellars in Lower Queen street every three months and the ' laying down of & rat exterminator.
