CULTIVATION OF MILLET. -
AUCKLAND, January 17. Dtiring the iveek_ representatives of thai Auckland A and P. Association visitedl the Rev. George Wilka's farm at East* Tamaki to see what had Tieen achieved in the cultivation of paspalum on the clayey lands of that neighbourhood. Over 35 varietiee have been experimented with, and remarkable success has attended the planting of Paepalum dilitattim, the • visitor^ bringing back samples taken off swampy - ground fully 6ft in length. The committed will report" the result of their investigations at the next meeting of the A. and P. Association. i . The Westport Coal Company's output fot\ last week was 8185 tons llcwt.
