Kairoma was prominent for seven furlongs -in the Anniversary Handicap, San Julie winning comfortably at the end. She acted; as runner-Tip in the principal event each day of the, Waira- - rapa meeting. Melwood made his reappear- . ance in the race. He showed a bit of his old-time dash at, the start,, but was- soon done with. - The Ruapehu Heck Handicap brought out the big field of 18- The Karamu representa- , five, North. The brilliant Menschikoff pony did not begin as smartly as 8om«*of her opoaente, but had the race in safe keeping «> furlong from borne. Aborigine had no" difficulty in .getting second. All Meceptors went to the >posfv for the Cup excopt Zirymerman, whose withdrawal . was due to a split hoof, ' Gold Crest ran a solid race throughout, but at the end failed 10 con-
