I NEW YOEK, January 10. The Appellate Court has mad© an order for the release of Mr Schmitz, late Mayor of San, Francisco. January 11. The Californian Appellate Court's decision discharging Sehmitz and Euef has i created an intense and most painful sensation. i The court declares, inter alia, that blackj mailing a saloon proprietor is no crime, j since there is grave doubt whether a 1 license is property. LONDON, January 11. The Times' San Francisco correspondent, referring to the release of Sehmitz and Euef, says that there are many other indictments against them, but the chances axe that both men will obtain their liberty. Schmitz's recent conviction was , annulled on pure technicalities, and the. whole campaign of the prosecution was in danger of collapsing.
