By Peteb Pan. January 10. Dear Pasquin, — Montgomery's Entertainers have been resting in town for the past week, but ore scheduled to leave on Tuesday for the smalls of this province. Mr Montgomery 'has the boat race dates at Wanganui and the Mksterton show diites. After these events the company proceed to Auckland 1 city, and then an extended tour of that province follows. Last Wednesday Mr Henry Bracy, general manager of J. C. Williamson's New Musical Comedy Company, celebrated his birthday — they say, his sixtieth ; he doesn't look it — and congratulations and good wishes weTe showered upon him by 'his friends. The members of the company, per Mr Moulton, conductor of the orchestra, presented him with a silver cigar case and a silveT box, and Messrs Stewart and Bert Boyle handed him 9, gold pencil case. Fullers' Touring Company, under the management of Alf. Linley, is still in the Hawke's Bay district, playing to good houses. The company returns to Wellington immediately to reorganise. February 15 to 25 a-re the dates booked for the local sfeason of Carter, the magiciani Carter is at present in Queensland. Alec Verne, last here with Holloway, is in advance. "My Lady Madcap" was succeeded' by "The Little Michus" on Wednesday night, and for a first production by Williamson's Musical Comedy Company on any stage received a successful presentation. It is highly amusing, and) the "book" is good an<|' the music better. Miss Amy Murphy appears in this opera, and her singing, aa usual, comes in for great praise. Mr George Matheson, heralding "Brew* ster's Millions," passed through thia city this week, going north. This company opens in Auckland on the 17th, amd does not reach this town until February 6. Wa-lteT Monk has gone ahead of the "Blue Moon" Company. The following is the itinerary: — Palmeirston, January 17 and 18, "Tb& Blue Moon" sundl "My Lady Madcap" ; Wanganui, January 20 and 21, "The Blue Moon" and "My Lady Madcap" ; Hawera, January 22, "The Blue Moon"; Stratford, January 23, "The Blue- Moon," ; New Plymouth, January 24, "My Lady Madcap"; Auckland January 25 to February 15; Gisborne, February 17, 18, and 19, "The Blue Mcon," "My Lady Madcap," and another of the plays in the company's repertoire; Napier, February 20 and 21, "The Blue Moon" and "My Lady Madcap"; Masterton, February 22 and 24, "Tho Blue Moon" and "My Lady Madcap"; Christchurch, February 26 to Masrch 10; Pimaaru, March 11 "The Blue Moon" ; Oamaaru, March 12, "The Blue Moon"; Dunedin, March 13 to March 26; Invercargill, March 27 and 28 "The Blue Moon" and "My Lady Madcap. It has not been definitely decided -which of the comedies in the company's repertoire will be the opening production in Auckland, Christch-urch,, and Dunedin, but it is almost certain tef b« "The Blue Moon." Mr George D. Porfcus, arrived in town on Tuesday -to make arrangements for the concerts 'by Madame Clara Butt. The concerts will be given on the 21st and 23rd. Madame Butt her husband, and concert party axe due in Auckland on Sunday— this time, for sure. j Pollard's Juveniles commence their return season at the Opera House on the 17th inst., and thei season extends until February 5. The youngsters 'have had "The Isle of Bhong Bhong" in steady rehearsal, and this American oomedy will probably form the open- i ing bill. . „ MacMahon's Pictures had a successful time on the West Coast, and this week were Nelson way. Charles Blake, with pictures and short comedies, also had a successful time on the Coast. . . West's Pictures a.re having a booming time at the Town Hall, and the quality of the entertainment does not make it dimcult to fill the large hall. A number two company, with the Brescians, is due in New Zealand shortly. It is at present m Tasmania. The New Zealand tour opens in Greymouth, and after playing the Coast this company will do all the smalls of New Zealand. Fullers still continue to do 'big business. Armstrong and Verne concluded their contract time last night, and were given a great send-off. They are- bound for America.
