[Whits:.] Black: 2, 5, 11, 19, 20f White: G, 9, 10, 14, 27. White to play and draw. PROBLEM 2557. By J. Feebie.

[WhitbO Black: 12, 15, 21. White: SO, 30, king 24. White to play and win. The above fine end-game was contributed by a correspondent who did not know the author's name, and who said that it had puzzled himself and his clubmates for some time past, and they had finally come to the conclusion that Black, having the move in his favour, could draw. It is an undoubted White win, though we have seen the contrary stated in a Scottish contemporary, and our solvers will find it an excellent exercise in end-game strategy. — Leeds Budget.
