Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Ltd.) report having offered a freehold farm of 78 acrea 3 roods at North .Taieri on account of the trustees of the late Jame3 Smellie. There was a large attendance, and after spirited bidding the property, including some 28 acres of growing crops, was sold at £25 5a per acre, Mr Allan Boyd, of North Taieri, the adjoining owner, being the purchaser.
