(Fbom Our Owh CorbespootentJ QAMARU, January 9. . The annual meeting of subscribers to th*. Oamaru Hospital was held this evening. The report showed that the receipts' for the 12 months ended March 31- last were £2146, and for the nine months just expired £2099 (including £208 from the- late Mr Hiddlestone). The expenditure for the first period was £2512 (including £902 spent on, buildings and drainage), and for the second period £1580. The report of Df Whittpn, medical superintendent, showed that during the year 1907 the number of patient* ' treated was 249 (including 80 females). Ofi i the total 211 were discharged as cured off I relieved and 21 ,died. Of the outdoor; ' patients 1010 attendances were 1 recorded (inI eluding 68 females). The opening of the 1 children's ward, 'which was made possible : by the' generosity of Mrs' John Reid, o£ ', Elderslie, increased the accommodation to ■46. - , x , , | -• The retiring .trustees were re-elected by , th<3 sufcsexibers, wio expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the institution.
