NAVAL DEFENCE.
LONDON;, December 28. A correspondent writing _ia The Times complains' that Mr Haldane's pessimism* implies that the oversea dominions would not afford support in the event' of a serious war.' The writer adds that if the whole burden of naval defence falls on the United Kingdom it will be owing to the inaptitude of -British politicians and not because British subjects, have . unpatriotically refused "to contribute.
