Captain Vergoeben, who was a combatant on the Boer Bide in the^war, shot Major Vonschoenebect dead on the lattep'e staircase in the Allenstein Barracks after the major had missed fire- Captain Vergoeben was wearing a mask. The deed was committed -at midnight. 'I' - _•;
Router says that the evidence joints to Major Vonschoenebect's _-wife as- the instigator of the affair. 'She had concealed a mask before hand.
