WELLINGTON NOTES. WELLINGTON, January 6.
- - There are 800 members in the Flaxmill Workers' Union, which is asking for affiliation with the Wellington Trades and Labour Council. During the 24 years Mr James Ashcroft has been official assignee the estates of 3000 bankrupts have passed througn his hands. „ Mr W. Pryor, secretary of the New /lea land Employers' Federation, leaves for Southland to-day. He will visit Dunedin early next month, and sit on the Arbitration Court in place of Mr S. Brown, the employers' representative, who will then be^bn'a visit to the Commonwealth. This •will -be the first occasion also on which Mr- M'Cullough, the - newly-appointed employee's , representative, will take his seat in 'the court. Mr Pryor ' subsequently proceeds to Timaru. Oamaru, and North Canterbury on business concerning the federaX Mr -Mao Donald, of the Tourist Department, has secured a fine set of biograph films of the departure of .the ' Antarctic exploration" ship" Nimrod. The pictures were taken from H.M.S. Powerful, and the department intends to send copies of them to various parts of the Empire. Messrs Erich Davidson, TT. Schmacht, and F. Ullrich, three, German tourists, left Wellington this morning, en route to the Hot Lakes district. They leave Auckland next week for Sydney.
