ASHBURTON TOURNAMENT.
\ ASHBURTOTT, December 29. A thnße-days' lawn tennis tournament, under, the auspices of the Ashburton Tennis Club, was completed on- Saturday afternoon, and was moat successful. There were over 200. entries, and the matches included the South I Canterbury championships and handicapped, games. The results of the finals were as ; °ICEN'S SINGLES (South Canterbury .^championship)— G. 'Ollivier beat C. G. White, 6 ~MEIiFs' DOUBLES (South; Canterbury championship)-W. Goss and G. Ollivier beat A. D Cox and E. A. Cox, 4—6 6-4; 6— a LADIES' SINGLES (South Canterbury ' championship)— Miss^W. Hislop beat Miss E-. /"Sn'S^INGLES HANDICAP (first grade)-R. Manning beat A.
