WAITAHUNA.
January 6. — The weather throughout the holiday was perfect. A little rain now would h?. very acceptable. Waitaihuna Agricultural Society. — This society's twenty-seventh annual show, held on the club's grounds on the 27th. )i December, was very successful. Over £28 was taken at the gate. The concert held in the evening under the auspices of the club was also a great success, the hall being packed to the doors. A dance was held in the halL after the concert, and was also very well attended.,. Over 30 couples took part in the grand march. Waitahuna Athletic Club.— This club held their annual sports on New Year's Day. The afternoon turned out rather cold, but it did not spoil the fun. There was a. very large attendance, and all seemed to- enjoy themselves thoroughly. The -Waitahuna Brass Band -was. present, and enlivened proceedings with, ft iw^y- enjoyable programme of

The concert held in Carmody's Hall on New Year's Night at the conclusion of the sports was a splendid success, as also was the dance which followed.
