The safe at the Buller County Council Office was robbed of £200 during the holidays. The burglar removed the main plate, drilled a. hole in the safe, shot back the bolt, removed the money, relocked the safe, and replaced the main plate.

The coal exported from Westport for 1907 was 6t5,139 t0n5— 610,759 tons by the Westport Coal Company and 34,380 tons by the Seddonville State colliery. The Westport Company's figures represent an increase of '39,199 tons over the previous year.
