$ Saturday was an ideal day for bowv ling, and in consequence the nttcudance on. the green was good. Pairs matches : were played and resulted: Moore and Whiteman met List and Eddy, but the latter pair put up some hot stuff and won, 23—20. They scored a. G, 1,3, and two 2-s. Freeman and Williams met and defeated Siddells and Davies, 22—18. The game was evenly contested till the finishing stages, and on the last live heads the winners scored Jive. McGill, and .Smith defeated Atkinson and Brown, 20—17. On the .19 th head the score was 15 all, but on the -oth the winners sc O', d live. [lax and Petrie ’ost to Baxter am. Gooding, .18——1, but, nevertheless put up a good tig::', the score being IS—if in their f e-our on the 39th head. Baxter and Gooding scored seven on (In- last tvy,o heads. Nicolson and Noble defeated Coopci and St. George, 28—9, the shots sent up by Noble being too hot. Freeman and Williams mot Moore and Whiteman, but went down badly, 44 27. The game on the 13th head stood at 22 —5 in favour of the winners.
