PARAPARAUMU.
Wedding. The wedding took place at St. Paul’s Church, Paraparuumu. of Edna, tin eldest daughter of Atr. and Airs. Fittou. and Air. Geo. Henderson, also of Paraparaumu. Rev. G. W. Kendrick officiated and the church was well tilled, by their itiuiuerous friends and amongst the numerous presents was one from the choir-of St. Paul’s. Mrs. Fittou was for 10 years orgrniist of the church. 'The beautiful bouquet of maiden hair fern and white sweet peas with white buds of roses was also the gift of the choir. Aliss Edna Hogg, niece of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Air. E. Fitton best man. The bride’s dress was crepe do clvotm and georgette with flowing veil, crowned with orange blossoms. The bridesiunid was dressed in sea green muroeain with picture hat of the same colour. The wedding breakfast was held in the marquee elected in III" bride’s parents picturesque gunnels. Afr. and Alts. Henderson left by motor for the north. Ratepayers’ Association. A meeting of the Ratepayers’ Association was held in St. Paul ’s schoolroom, when matters appertaining to the town and district were discussed. The member for the district, Air. AV. H. Field, A!.!’., is to be requested to use his endeavours to have a telephone placed tit the railway station. Other matters that received attention were the securing of the land opposite the railway station for a bowling green and park. This matter is receiving a great deal of support from the residents. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of thanks to the performers, who so kindly assisted in the entertainment on Saturday night, also those who placed motors cars and entertained them during their stay in ibe township. If was reported that the roads had been repaired and that Aiawa Road is to be completed, also a lamp to bo placed at the end of the railway platform. Other urn iters of general interest were dealt with.
NOTES. The Happy \ audevji-e Entertainers were tit farapaniuniu last Tuesday,, 'ilm entertainment was of bright and mirthful nature, the items being much appreciated. Air. Bruce AVoggeiy met. with a painful accident wliilst. out pig hunting. Al.r. Wcggcry was out. on the hills I behind Paraparuumu, some 4 to .j miles from the town. J .Ving Citing, the Chinese magician, | gave an entertainment at St. Paul's 1 schoolroom last Tuesday. The funds were in aid of the Sjvmdny School.
