OTAKI RIVER BOARD.
SEPECIAL LOANS. On Wednesday, the 3.lst October, the. first proposal of the above Board to raise special loans for River Protection Works was placed before the ratepayers. and was carried. The voting was as follows:- — For the proposal 40 Against the proposal 2 The location of the proposed works is in the neighbourhood of Mr. PrestonThomas’s property, and is /the first work on the river in connection with the comprehensive scheme of river protection as outlined by the Board’s Engineer, “Mr. C. Laing-Meason. It is hoped to commence the work at an earlv date.
