' Local followers of Tom Mix, the big luminary of the William Fox welkin, will have another treat in "Do and Dare," his latest vehicle, which comes to the Lyric pictures next Wednesday. This new screenplay, which is from the pen of Marion Brooks, and which was directed by Edward Sedgwick, casts the vigorous hero in three distinct rokr—first, as the valorous and perildefying scout of the, western plains, wao rescues the beautiful daughter of tie commandant of a desoluto frontier fort, from a hostile Indian tribe, and then saves the post from the onslaughts of the savages; second, as the guileless and passive youth who neither knows of, nor seeks adventure in his provincial shell, but who is suddenly fired by the desire for romance when he hears the lurid talcs of his famous forbear; and third, as the brave and resolute participant in a South. American revolution, whoso daring deeds win for him the woman lie loves and the command of a nation's military forces. Those who are; familiar with tho varied talents of this 'dynamic actor can easily picture the grace and dash wherewith he conducts himself in the numerous scenes of this photoplay. To say it is Tom at his best is an old description, but true nevertheless. Reginald Demi; also appears on the same programme in another rouud of the "New .Leuther Pushers," and further demonstrates his ability as a, champion- prize fighter. Plenty; of laughs and giggles will be had from the new.
