HICKSON MISSION
NO SENSATIONAL SCENES. The spiritual healing mission of the Anglican Church was opened, at Auckland on Monday by Mr. Hickson, when a large number of people chiefly women and children, some grievously ill, and others not apparently suffering from other than afflictions or age or comparatively trival disabilities, receiving the laying on of hands and blessings of the church. Nothing of a sensational nature occurred and any erroneous preconceived impression that the mission would produce highly emotional scenes and spectacular healings that would instantly be acclaimed as miracles, were dispelled. On the other hand there was a wonderful stirring of the soul. Many patic-uts, on being questioned whether they felt any improvement, said they felt wonderfully happy and were convinced physical healing would follow, while some affirmed that benefit had already resulted. The sight of two wheeled chairs left by men who had been wheeled into the building and left it on foot, seemed to point to cures.
