ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES.
At the Police Court on Wednesday; at- Palmerston Xorth, Arthur lieginald PoiUin.il, alias Walter (Stewart, alias Jack Orbell, alias Grant, alias Montefiere, was charged that, on or about August 4, 1923, at Otaki, he did obtain from T. P. Lyons the sum of £2 by means of a certain false pretence, to wit a valueless cheque for £5 drawn on the Bank of Australasia, Otaki, with intent to defraud. Senior-Sergeant fmser. who appeared lor the police, asked for a remand until Tuesday next, the accused to appear at O'aki on that date. The remand was granted.
