Master Sid Lewis, who was recently operated on for appendicitis, is making a good recovery. Mr. Bvron Brown, who has been visiting Rarotonga, left for New Zealand on the Maungantii. Airs. Brown will remain a month or so longer. Air. and A 1 r. C. H. O. ,Joplin, who have been residents of Otaki for some time, leave on Friday to lake up residence at Ilawern. Mr. and Mrs. Askew. ;i1 present in England on holiday, write to say that they had a splendid voyage, despite the fact that the former had tire inih-.enza on the way over. Mr. and Mrs. lien lb-up. who have been residents of Otaki for some years, during which time they have made many friends, will take up residence in Wellington at the end of this month. At a spei-itt) meeting of the Otaki Borough Council yesterday the Deputy .Mayor Air. T. O'Koui'ktj referred to the illm-ss of Mr. Brandon ; .Mayor) and moved a vote of sympathy, at the same time expressing' a wish that he would (.illicitly be restored to good health and thus be enabled to again take his miial place at the head of the table. The motion was seconded by Cr. Kib-by and cat tied unanimously.
